[Beneficial Carbon]

What is Biochar?

A 10,000 year track record and 20,000+ peer-reviewed scientific studies back biochar’s benefits - benefits in ready reach today plus, with continued R&D, even more exciting benefits for the future.

[The Process]

Biochar Production

Using patented climate technology and our revolutionary process.

[ 01 ]

Greenwaste is secured from existing waste management systems.

[ 02 ]

It is chipped, dried & heated in the absence of oxygen, solidifying & stabilizing the carbon.

[ 03 ]

Biogas & oil are produced that are used to fuel the process. The remaining carbon is biochar.

Our process is carbon negative, which means we also generate
high-quality biomass carbon removal and storage (BiCRS) carbon offsets.

[The Opportunity]

Boosting Biochar

Biochar is great, but America is missing out. Project Drawdown, a nonprofit that studies the viability of carbon sequestration products, published a low-end estimate of a 17,000X market expansion for biochar by 2050.

Low supplies and high costs have kept biochar from its full potential, keeping it out of reach for most who could capitalize immediately on its many benefits.

Until now.

reCap will produce at quantities and prices no current U.S. biochar producer can match.

Building Better Soil

reCap joined UF/IFAS, USDA, and Central Florida growers to explore how biochar and compost can build healthier, more resilient Florida soils. We heard about EQIP funding, emerging citrus research from UF/IFAS, and how reCap’s OMRI‑listed, Fresh From Florida biochar can support growers statewide.
