Day 1 at FAC '26

It was a great first day at the Florida Association of Counties (FAC) annual conference in Orange County.

We had the chance to meet with county leaders from across the state and share the reCap story in person. A big part of that conversation was our work in Leon County, where reCap has already earned award-winning recognition for showing that our approach can work in the real world. That experience continues to open doors and spark interest as more counties look for new ways to handle yard trash more efficiently and more sustainably.

One theme kept coming up again and again: yard trash is a real operational and financial challenge.

Counties across Florida are looking closely at every part of their solid waste system, and they’re under increasing pressure to reduce expenses without sacrificing service. Yard trash may seem like just one part of the bigger waste stream, but it creates serious costs in collection, processing, hauling, and disposal.

That’s why these conversations matter. Counties are actively looking for solutions that help them save money, preserve landfill space, and improve long-term sustainability.

What makes reCap unique is that our patented process is designed to do all of that without asking residents to change how they live or give up services they already rely on.

That matters.

Our approach is built to fit into existing county operations, reduce costs, and create value from material that is often treated as a burden. In other words, we help counties save money and save space, while keeping service levels intact for residents.

It’s not about adding another layer of complexity. It’s about giving counties a better option.

We’re excited to be back at FAC today for another full day of meetings and conversations with county leaders from across Florida.

The interest is real, the need is real, and the momentum is building. We’re grateful for the opportunity to keep sharing what we’re doing, learning from others, and exploring where reCap can help next.
